When it comes to effective time management it is essential to know exactly how you are spending your time now. You may think you do know exactly how you spend your hours but if you take a closer look you will probably surprised at where your time actually goes. Keeping a time log is the best way to get an exact picture of how you really spend your time and can then benefit from personal time management. So each day you need to write down exactly where your time goes, both at home and at work. Many people feel that time-logs are a waste of time but I assure you they are not, and you only have to do it for a week or two to get an accurate picture of how you spend your time. When you do this for a couple of weeks an look back over how you spent your time you can clearly see which activities are worthwhile and which are a waste of your time.
