Melbourne Guitar Lessons: Maximize Your Potential.

November 3rd, 2008 by admin

I’ve been what you could call a novice guitar player for many years.

I can play with many people and hold my own, but if I’m placed in a situation where the caliber of musicians is way above me, then I’m lost.

It’s not that I don’t want to become a better guitar player; it’s just I can’t seem to find the right program that would best optimize my time for practice and improvement.

Not too long ago, a friend of mine told me about this amazing online guitar course called the Melbourne guitar lessons.

The instructor, Craig Basset, in a very straight-forward manner, helps students maximize potential by learning how to practice smart.

I might just give it a try.

Are MP3 Music Downloads Affecting the Big Fish?

November 1st, 2008 by admin

The major record company recording industry is feeling the effect of mp3 music downloads and not in a positive way.  The record industry’s main product is the CD and they are not exactly flying off the shelf. In 2006, CD sales accounted for over 80 percent of record company’s total global sales.  This amount dropped by 19 percent in 2007 and it appears that there is no end in site for future CD sales declines.

The big fish are reeling to come up with some alternatives for growth and resurgence in sales, but the new evolution is still to be seen.  As shelf space for music CD’s diminishes both domestically and globally, the fight to increase physical music media sales may become a losing battle for the record companies.

Cold Solder

October 9th, 2008 by admin

If you’re looking for a good holiday gift for a tinkerer you can hardly give away anything more inventive than the Cold Heat soldering iron. The idea is this: instead of running electric current through the tip of the iron to heat it up, the Cold Heat iron runs the current between the two prongs of its split tip, and thus through the solder. It’s not the first Cold Solder — there are butane-powered versions, but these cost twice as much as the $20 Cold Heat, take longer to cool and require butane cartridges. Now you’re thinking “Hmm … I wonder if the Cold Heat works like a cattle prod too?”

Sewing And Knitting

September 29th, 2008 by admin

I was looking with my neighbor Mary Maxim Needlework Crafts for a project to keep us busy during the winter; something that we would both enjoy and something that would help the community. We both like sewing and knitting, so we thought that we could try to make use of these skills in whichever project we chose. We got in touch with a local care home for the elderly and volunteered our services. They said that some of their residents suffer from bad circulation and often feel cold throughout the winter, particularly those in wheelchairs. Many patients have to be covered in blankets, so they suggested that we could knit some blankets for the residents. We were given the specifications, including the desired dimensions so as not to get caught in the wheels of the…

Is Dancing News More Common These Days?

September 17th, 2008 by admin

George Sampson made headlines in Britain, Jabbawockeez made the papers, Alesha Dixon made the papers. It seems that dancing news is becoming more of a staple these days and it’s not unusual for it to be a headline story every once in a while.

To be fair it usually coincides with some sort of talent contest but still it’s good that it’s enjoying a heightened profile again. One upon a time the likes of Fred Astaire were superstars. Now dancers may not be superstars but their profile is rising once again.

I guess it was kind of inevitable that hip hop dancers like the Jabbawockeez and Kenny Wormald are partly responsible for this revival seeing as hip hop music is the thing at the moment. So expect more dance news around the corner while it’s popular again.

How To Begin To Learn Italian

September 13th, 2008 by admin

Future releases and editions will include more learning material for your different needs, and more powerful functions to make your learning easier. I didn’t quite grasp the rules of the competition of how to begin to learn Italian: It was supposed to test their ability to adapt to Italian style, but weren’t all the clothes the girls had to choose from by designer Gai Mattiolo? Therefore it wasn’t like they themselves actually had to put together an Italian look. Learn and Speak Italian is different, because it allows you to click on an Italian word or sentence and hear it spoken twice by a native Italian.
