September 17th, 2008 by admin

These days the famous dancer in music videos on MTV that you watch every night can just as likely be visiting your town the next day to be teaching a dance class.

There are many TV dancers that teach dance masterclasses so that those with an interest in dance can learn those moves from TV as well.

Sometimes the choreographers will teach master classes as well, in fact many choreographers do as a lot of them are still healthy and young enough to dance and demonstrate in class!

Is Dancing News More Common These Days?

September 17th, 2008 by admin

George Sampson made headlines in Britain, Jabbawockeez made the papers, Alesha Dixon made the papers. It seems that dancing news is becoming more of a staple these days and it’s not unusual for it to be a headline story every once in a while.

To be fair it usually coincides with some sort of talent contest but still it’s good that it’s enjoying a heightened profile again. One upon a time the likes of Fred Astaire were superstars. Now dancers may not be superstars but their profile is rising once again.

I guess it was kind of inevitable that hip hop dancers like the Jabbawockeez and Kenny Wormald are partly responsible for this revival seeing as hip hop music is the thing at the moment. So expect more dance news around the corner while it’s popular again.

How To Begin To Learn Italian

September 13th, 2008 by admin

Future releases and editions will include more learning material for your different needs, and more powerful functions to make your learning easier. I didn’t quite grasp the rules of the competition of how to begin to learn Italian: It was supposed to test their ability to adapt to Italian style, but weren’t all the clothes the girls had to choose from by designer Gai Mattiolo? Therefore it wasn’t like they themselves actually had to put together an Italian look. Learn and Speak Italian is different, because it allows you to click on an Italian word or sentence and hear it spoken twice by a native Italian.

American Idol

August 28th, 2008 by admin

American Idol is a hybrid of a talent show and a reality TV show that I am ready to see the end of. With every bit of every season of that show that I have glimpsed, the program has seemed to have grown farther away from the talent element and closer to the reality element, to the point that it isn’t even about reality as much as cruelty. The process of the show comes off as being manipulated in a such a way as to ensure that the most marketable rather than the most talented contestant wins. Season One did manage to produce the both talented and likable Kelly Clarkson, but ever since then, each season has been slightly less talented-oriented than the last, producing winners who continuously go on to create less-satisfying pop music.

The variety of uses of Chau Gongs

August 24th, 2008 by admin

When you talk about the Chinese Gong, too avoid confusion with other Chinese Gongs from China, it’s also known as the Chau gong. Most people recognize the Chau Gong as a shiny metallic percussion device. Some get as small as ten inches, while others get as large as eighty! Think about that, eighty inches large around! I’ve only seen the larger ones, and the sound is so popular in film, television and popular music, you can’t confuse it with much else. And even though we’re listening to it today, it’s very old, get this, the oldest Chau gong ever found dated from the Han Dynasty!

Doing something a little different

August 8th, 2008 by admin

Rather than just painting my daughter’s room with pastel colors and hanging up some baby decorations I would like to do something different. I would like to put up real artwork that isn’t just for babies so she can grow into her room, but still like the room while she is a child. Can anyone recommend a source for kids wall art? It doesn’t necessarily have to have been made for kids as long as it would be liked by kids. We definitely don’t want something created for little kids that they would soon think was too babyish for them.

I am Thinking of Taking Some Acting Classes.

August 6th, 2008 by admin

I have always been interested in acting. I think it is do mainly to the fact that my mother and I used to watch old movies together when I was younger. I used to love to watch Audrey Hepburn and Judy Garland and dreamed about being an actress just like them one day. So I think that is why I have decided to take some acting classes after I graduate high school. I have been in a high school drama class for three years and I love it. So I think that this is the right path for me to take right now.

How many New Batman Movies can you handle? No more!

August 4th, 2008 by admin

I can not take it anymore. When I was a kid I seen my first Batman movie and it scared the hell out of me. I could not believe what I was watching! Violence, Sex, Murder. What next? I hated it and loved it at the same time. Now, 30 years later, we have the new batman movies but how many more are to come? Are they just going to keep revamping over and over? I think it is a little played out. Don’t you? The next Batman Movie I go to see will entail Batman dieing of laughter while the Joker smashes his face in with old Batman Dvd’s. That is all.

Secret to Playing the Tabla

August 3rd, 2008 by admin

The real secret to being a great drummer of the tabla is essentially really simple and, I’m not going to advise PRACTICE alone – that is pretty obvious anyway. The secret is to listen to music - listen intently to all genres of music, from the heavy metal, rock, to soft sounds & pan pipes; from R&B, hip-hop to jazz and soul; from funk, folk to classical, etc. By doing so, you will be able to develop that rhythmical ear that can adjust to all music and pick up on anything. In learning both classical and folk Tabla – constant attention to sounds and music all the time allows one to master dozens of beats and rhythms from all around the world mentally. This is sure to get you going before getting out the Table drums and experimenting on them for the purest of sounds.

Playing the Dulcimer

July 12th, 2008 by admin

With the dulcimer, a wide variety of playing styles have long been used. The Dulcimer Book (1974) shows a woman playing the dulcimer with a bow instead of a pick–with the tail of the dulcimer held in the player’s lap and the headstock resting on a table pointing away from her. In the book–In Search of the Wild dulcimer (1974), other musicians’ manner of playing is described as "guitar style": the dulcimer hangs from a strap around the neck, and the instrument is fretted and strummed like a guitar. Still other dulcimer players use a fingerstyle technique, fingering chord positions with the fretting hand and rhythmically plucking individual strings with the strumming hand, creating delicate tunes. Some even use a hammer, especially with the mountain dulcimer type.

Careers in clothing are more demanding

July 1st, 2008 by admin

I find it hard to believe that there is one particular industry in the fashion world that holds the highest respect among people. Within the fashion industry there is a high demand for different types of clothing careers. Because of this high demand there is a necessity for new ideas when it comes to clothing. Clothing as it seems has become more than a need it has become a want among lots of people. Being trendy and update with fashion is almost a necessity today. Being a part of the clothing industry is a way to show your talent and your creativity to your peers.
