Extra Calcium is good Osteoporosis Treatment

Bones are made up of calcium and minerals and should have a minimum density.  Therefore, if you increase your calcium and Vitamin D intake, your bones should strengthen as your bone density increases, at least one would think.  However, your bone density will not increase.  The best Osteoporosis Treatment available is considered extra calcium in your diet because it can prevent the onset of osteoporosis.  The benefits of the extra calcium come into play because most women eat a diet that is low in calcium to begin with, and then when they hit menopause, their calcium is further depleted as hormones stop.
