Fraxel Treatments

February 19th, 2008 by admin

As a child, how many times did you hear adults say “don’t worry dear, when you’re older those freckles will fade”? Did you discover that, well into your 30s, their promises were purely hot air, and your face is still a map of places the harsh Australian sun has been?

I too, am the recipient of those hollow promises, so I began looking into ways to treat the sun damage. Laser therapy seems a good route, but up until recently, there was only two real choices: ablative laser therapy, which means more heat into the skin and so a longer healing time (but is more effective), or non-ablative, which uses less heat, so is gentler, but less effective. Then I stumbled across Fraxel treatments. The Fraxel laser is really the best of both worlds, using less heat, but as effective as ablative treatment.

After 4 treatments over 7 months I am happy to report I am delighted with my skin, and the majority of my freckles are gone. I feel better, too, knowing that I have helped my skin recover from all that sun.
