I was reading an article recently that referred to acne as a disease. I am not sure if acne really constitutes a disease, I could be wrong, but doesn’t a disease have to cause some kind of distress? I am not thinking psychological, although there are those kinds of diseases, but physical distress. And doesn’t a disease have to be contagious to be considered a disease? I don’t know, but this article is the reason that commercials claim to have an acne cure, because they definitely want us to think it is a disease. If we start regarding acne as a disease we will probably be more willing to spend money getting rid of it.
