Care and grooming tips when training your puppy

May 31st, 2009 by admin

One aspect of learning how to train a puppy involves providing enough physical and mental stimulation, and caring for your pet in the proper way. Dogs exchange their milk teeth for their permanent teeth between the ages of about four to seven months. Because at around this age dogs have a greater need to chew than normal, it is important that you provide plenty of opportunity for chewing during this period. For older dogs, too, it is important that they have something to chew at least once a week and preferably more frequently. In this way you prevent teeth problems developing when your dog is older. Always give your dog a safe bone to chew; one that is too large is better than one that is too small, and it should be tough. Pressed buffalo hide is a very suitable option.
