Lord Lucan and Aspinall

Since John Aspinall’s death in 2000, it has been widely documented how his vast animal parks, Howletts and Port Lympne, were almost entirely purchased and supported on the back of his ill-gotten winnings. But in the 1960s, no-one would have dreamed that Britain’s smartest Club was merely a killing ground for Aspinall’s gang. Aspinall had even drawn up a list of the “Top Ten Most Wanted”. Amongst his chief victims was the fabulously wealthy 18th Earl of Derby, who owned much of Lancashire and Liverpool, as well as Lord Lucan.
