What is the Probate process by State: Each State has their own set of required documentation and procedures. The attorney representing the decedent and the decedent’s will will be well schooled and prepared to address the State requirements. You will have plenty to do throughout this process with keeping everyone abreast, especially the beneficiaries. It would be wise to have the attorney draft a letter as to what taxes will be do (even if it may be only a percentage from the onset) and a detailed rendering of the cost involved with this process to help manage expectations of the beneficiaries.
