If you are an animal lover, you will love the Memphis Zoo.  Spend a day watching the animals play and roam about.  Watch the trainers feed them and be a part of the interactive shows.  Make sure you visit all three zones of animals.  

After your day at the zoo, head over to Mud Island River Park.  At night you can sit in the 5,000 seat amphitheater and listen to bands all evening long.  During the day you can walk a replica of the Mississippi River.  Rent some bikes for the family and ride through the park.  If it is water fun you are looking for then rent a kayak or a paddle boat.
